Elementary Teachers shepherd elementary students, teach them about God’s Word, and lay the foundation for a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ. Church membership is required for this role. Service commitment is either weekly or biweekly.

What are the available times to serve?
8:00-9:15 Kindergarten-Fifth Grade
9:15-10:45 Kindergarten, First and Second grade, Third-Fifth grade Jr. Church
10:45-12:15 Kindergarten, Third, Fourth and Fifth grade, First-Second grade Jr. Church
Sunday Night 5:30-7:00 Kindergarten-Fifth grade
Wednesday Night 6:30-7:30 Kindergarten-Fifth grade
How will you serve?
You will be responsible for the following:
- Having lessons prepared in advance.
- Having a class routine and rules that are age-appropriate. Follow through with the rules/rewards/consequences that you set for your class.
- Engaging students in the learning. (questions, role-play, activities)
- Shepherding your students by taking time to talk and listen to them, and by sending notes and cards to their homes.
- Praying for your students.
- Modeling Christ-like behavior for your students both in and out of the classroom.
What are the requirements to serve in this role?
- Membership of Fairmount Christian Church status: Member / Active Attender / No requirement
- Completed Children’s Ministry Volunteer Application
- Passed background security check
- Completed Teacher Questionnaire and approved
- Completed Special Needs Training (as needed)
- Completed Connections 101 and 201 classes
What will you need while you serve?
- Curriculum and teaching resources given each quarter (to be used and returned ready for next year)
- Class Roll
- Name tag
- Pre-addressed postcards to your students each quarter
- Access to Resource Room stocked with typical craft items
- Periodic teacher enrichment opportunities and training
- Access to locking cabinets in your classroom (Sunday morning only)
