How can your role be described?
Elementary Helpers assist the teachers shepherd students, teach them God’s Word and help lay the foundation for a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ. Church membership is not required for this role. Helpers typically serve weekly or biweekly.

What are the available times to serve?
9:15-10:45 Kindergarten, First and Second grade
10:45-12:00 Kindergarten, Third, Fourth and Fifth grade
Sunday Nights: 5:30-7:00 PM Kindergarten – Fifth grade
Wednesday Nights: 6:30-7:30 PM Kindergarten – Fifth grade
How will you serve?
You will be responsible for the following:
- Support the teacher and help students follow the class routine and rules. Follow through with the rules/rewards/consequences.
- Help engage students in the learning. (participate in the activities)
- Shepherd your students by taking time to talk and listen to them and by sending notes and cards to their homes.
- Pray for your students.
- Model Christ-like behavior for your students both in and out of the classroom.
What are the requirements to serve in this role?
- Membership of Fairmount Christian Church status: Member / Active attender / No requirement
- Completed Children’s Ministry Volunteer Application
- Passed background security check
- Completed Special Needs training (as needed)
